Daddy and Madison

Max and Madison have been doing some serious bonding lately. She is infatuated with the sound of his voice and loves when Max makes silly noises (see video below)...she isn't giggling/laughing yet, but the smiles are enough for us! Hope they light up your day like they do ours.

We've really tried to capture a smiling Madison and it seems there are always mishaps when we do it....she stops when I finally get the camera, shet gets distracted by the flash or in the case below I have it on video instead of camera. Oh well, because now we have sweet footage of what is making her smile. I'll remember next time that I can't turn the camera sideways like when taking a picture. Just turn your heads to the left and enjoy.

Beach Baby

Last week, Max, Madison and I joined the DuBois clan in South Padre for a little summer vacation fun. 4 days + 3 nights + sunny weather + good people = an awesome time!

While Madison wasn't quite old enough for the pool/beach she still had lots of fun and of course got lots of lovin' from everyone.
I think Allie wants to go too!
Madison is ready too!

Madison's first plane ride! She was a doll. The trip there was better than the way back where we had a diaper explosion and a little fussiness. All in all, however, the rest of the passengers were spared...which was my goal!

The epitome of....'chillin'

On the way to the pool with Daddy.

Looking slightly annoyed. Somebody is ready for their Pina Colada!

Hot stuff!

It must be tiring to be so cute!

Madison and Aunt Niki....a little girl talk.

Playing cards at night with the family!

Being lulled to sleep at a restaurant by her Mimi

Working up the giggles..compliments of Daddy

Conked out from too much fun!

Please excuse my obnoxious voice in the background, but this is Maddie's first time in the swing. Consider it - unsuccessful....although we tried.

Hard Day at the Office

Yesterday, Madison and I went to see Max at work...meet the bosses, have lunch with clients.

At first, she was resistant to Max's demands of finishing his reports.
But then, she realized that she was actually a whiz at the computer and finished his reports faster than he could. Of course the length of her arms were a bit of a challenge, so Max controlled the mouse but she is a natural. ;)

Brother Calvin

While this picture might look like a sweet dog sitting next to a
playing baby to the naked eye, anyone who knows Calvin knows that the orange toy at the bottom of Madison's feet is a sign of serious business. Luckily he knows that Madison does not have the ability (yet) to play fetch. I think the intention was for me. Calvin is the ultimate retrieval dog.....oh wait that is until he gets tired and stops half way and barks because he doesn't understand why you won't cover the rest of the distance to pick up the toy and throw it again. Oh Calvin, how we love you!

Shopping!

Since about two to three weeks of age, I have not been shy about taking Madison out to run errands, eat out, etc. Being cooped up in the house can drive a person batty.
Last week, we exhausted our trip time and ran into the need to feed and diaper change. No problem! The handicap stalls are perfect for fitting the stroller and the ledge/seat in a dressing room serves as an excellent place to change and nurse the baby. Oila! Good as new and ready for more shopping.

Funny Poses

I love this picture. She looks happy and content on Mommy dearest.

Haha, drama!

The thinker pose. As in, 'excellent question, let me think that over and get back to you'. With an answer like that she's already a Ranger.

Passed out.

The Mom/Dad To Be

Their nursery is coming right along and looks awesome. This is the dynamic duo right before their baby shower in Fort Worth.

The Sewells and Marcella

We had a full house last weekend with Misty's shower as the highlight. Those that stayed at our house included: Mom, Shannon, their two weenie dogs (Hunter and Emma), Uncle Mark, Aunt Melody and Aunt Marcella. It was a packed house, but a great time. We've all been really lucky this year to get to see the Whitmire side of the family so much.

Granddad and Grandma Natty Come to Visit

There were lots of visitors the weekend of Misty's shower. Friday afternoon, started with a few hour visit from Granddad and Grandma Natty.
Looks like someone is a natural!

I love this picture..so cute!

A little Longhorn pep rally!

Capturing a Smile....

She is smiling up a storm lately, but we are not quite good at capturing it yet. Below are a few close ones...we will keep trying!

And she is laughing here....not crying..FYI

Sleeping in Her Own Crib

Since birth, Madison has slept in our bed. 3 weenie dogs, two adults and one infant. I realize this won't be the best situation as she gets older so we are working on introducing her to her crib during nap time. Here are a few shots of our lovely napping peacefully in her own bed in her own room. I will miss the cuddles early in the morning, but want to really work with her to get her in her own room.

Bowhead!

When we stepped outside last night, we were greeted with a card and a small package. Inside the package was a set of baby bows. Upon opening the card, we realized it was a gift from our neighbor (a few houses down) who actually delivered on the same day as us. We didn't know the neighbors particularly, but Max recognized the husband when roaming the hospital when Madison was born. Oila! Instant connection....two babies only hours apart.
I know the bow and outfit do NOT match....

The note read....
"Congratulations on your new baby girl! I wanted to make some bows for you - something I love doing for my little girl too! :) I can't believe our babies are already one month, let me know if you ever want a playdate, or if you need anything!
-Your neighbors @122"
So sweet....look forward to getting to know her and her family!

God Bless America......

In honor of the America's Independence, I exercised my own independence and let Max watch Madison while I got my hair done. Phew.....what a relief that was. Bye-bye dark roots, HELLO summer blonde!

Madison supported the national holiday with a red/white/blue onesie. She looked very patriotic. We ate like Americans (in honor of the day, of course) with steaks, corn on the cob, sauteed mushrooms and salad. Delicious! The day ended with a lovely firework display here in Trophy Club.

Madison - 26 Days Old

Happy 1st of July everyone! Madison is 26 days old today and wanted to say, 'HI' from her bouncer....to which she spends a lot of her waking time. I like the first picture because I think it looks like she is waving.....although it is more like an uncontrollable hand flapping...but whatever. :)

Cute pink outfit compliments of cousin Ashley!
