Grandma X Comes to Town

I say Grandma X because we have yet to name her. It's almost comical at this point that we don't have a name because every time we are together we talk about what the options are........Moma, Nana (pronounce Nan-uh), Sassy, Peaches, Maralina....you can see where we get goofy. Regardless of what we call her or what Maddie ends up calling her there is no doubt that we love having her around. Maddie couldn't agree more:

Mom had a flu shot, thus the boo-boo bandage. ;)
This is probably the BEST laughing face I've captured of Maddie. Max thought she looked like she was crying, but I guarantee this is a bonafied happy face accompanied by lots of leg kicks.

Don't think the dogs didn't get some love too.
Maddie's closet benefitted from the trip too! Cousin Henry did as well, even though he wasn't able to make it...his clothes to the left.
The next adventure with Grandma X is when she takes Maddie for a whole weekend when we are at Texas OU. You better believe I'm pumping like crazy so we don't have to use formula too.

A Baby Divided

You've heard of a house divided, well Maddie was a 'baby divided' today as UT played Tech. As many of you know, I come from a bleed orange family while Max comes from a family chalk full of diplomas from Lubbock. In honor of the game, Maddie sported gear from both schools.
Sporting her UT gea and a potbelly. Hello, Homer Simpson.
Go Longhorns! Go Longhorns! Go, go, go Longhorns!

Hook 'em with Mom.
Wait a minute.......
Dad says, 'wreck 'em'
Wait, I think Dad is confused too.
Raider butt.

The game is actually still on. It's the 3rd quarter and Tech just scored bringing them to 17 against the Longhorns' 24. Crossing my fingers. A whole quarter to go.

Henry and Maddie

Getting to know you, Getting to know all about you. Getting to like you, Getting to hope you like me. -The King and I

Henry and Misty came over on Friday for a little maternity leave fun. We went to Southlake Town Center, ate, shopped (frowned at our bodies in the dressing room mirrors), etc. The babies had some good bonding time.

Maddie taking a look at Henry, the handsome.
Hello, friend.

And I need to upload the video of another one of their encounters during this visit because it is just priceless. Maddie is sitting in her bouncer and Misty is holding Henry in front of Maddie.....his feet are resting at the base of her bouncer. Well, Miss Maddie (say THAT with an attitude) decided she didn't want Henry on her bouncer and kept kicking him off. It is the preview for the bullying to come, I fear. Actually, I think she just got excited and started kicking, but it looked like she was kicking him off.
Lastly, it was the most precious thing when Henry smiled and Maddie smiled back. Baby communication at its best!

Bumbo's Away!

A Bumbo is a booster chair for kids. It helps them gain stability when they are still weak and then serves as a chair when they are a little older...a tray can be added for food, etc. Well, Maddie is now sitting up so well that she enjoys sitting in it to watch cartoons. She has about a 15 minute attention span if it is the right show (bright colors, silly noises/songs and big animation). 'On Demand' is a blessing with little ones. There are so many cartoon options at the tip of our fingers. The show on below, is called Barnyard.
Now, no one hate on how close she is to that big screen. She's actually about four feet.
Ooh, Maddie, the intensity of that show must be getting to you. ;)

THE Baby Doll

Grandmother gave Maddie her first baby doll and man is she in love.....like XOXOXO....in love. She loves to smile, talk and chew on her.
The baby doll.....known as Dolly. Real original, I know!
Two sleeping beauties.
Girl time in the car.

Oh Allie!

She so desperately wants to be a baby!

Jumperoo

It's so fun when shower gifts come out for the first time. The most recent out-of-the-box baby shower gift to surface is the 'jumperoo' give by Mrs. Bustos. It's in the shape of a horse and makes various sounds/songs as Maddie jumps up and down.....neighs, clomp-clomp-clomp, bonanza theme song, etc.
At first, she plopped over and started to suck on the side. Then! I figured out she needed a blanket to fill the gap and make her sit up straight.
God bless her, she has my height problem. Her feet don't touch! The spring coils are starting to loosen so she is much closer, but a fun view!

A blank stare, but it was preceeded by a smile....I swear!

Tummy Time Improves

Every day, she gets stronger and more able to hold her head up during tummy time. She is now starting to grab at the toys I put in front of her. Grabbing and pulling them to her mouth to be more specific. She is getting the hang of it for sure!

Proud Mommy

So, last week the school had a 'meet the teacher' night. I honestly missed all of the posts for this event and it wasn't until I picked Maddie up one night when they asked, 'are you coming back?'. I had no idea what they were talking about, but they quickly let me know what was in store. After sharing the news with my husband, he quickly resonded 'she's a baby, she doesn't need to know her teachers.' Oh dear.....so we didn't go...we opted for Mexican food instead.
When I dropped her off the next morning, I was greeted with a cute little folder full of my first child-made pieces of art. I'm so excited, I just might frame them. I also felt like a jerk for not going to the 'meet the teachers' night. Apparently, only two of the infant moms went....:( Artwork for all to admire below:

The Taylors Come to Visit

A few weekends back, Grandmother, Grandad, and the Taylor Prospers made a trip to Fort Worth to get some baby lovin'. Grandmother had her camera and caught some great moments on camera. Enjoy....
Baby Maddie gives Henry a kiss on the forehead....or is she sucking on him...haha....not sure
My beautiful sister and her bundle of joy

Maddie in 'airplane' mode with her Dad. Funny tidbit is that Max did this maneuever with her at the restaurant later this same night and she spit up into his open mouth (his mouth was open b/c he was talking and smiling at her)

Labor Day

This Labor Day, we set out to visit all of the grandparents...this included Georgetown, Austin and Garden Ridge.

The fun began on Thursday where Misty, Tim, the babies and I left for Georgetown (Max wasn't able to make it until Friday when he got off work). Below is a video of us leaving the house. Needless to say we had a packed car and one adult was always stuck in between two babies...sometimes it was a peaceful seat and sometimes it was not. Take a peek for yourself.

Of course we had to make a quick pit stop before really hitting the road to fill-up the car with gas.

Labor Day Fun continued

Full car!

The weekend started at Dad and Natalia's where we hung out and started our Labor Day fun.
